Registration and Renewal:

We will be using the same website this year.  If you signed up last you can renew through the email you’ve received.  During this process you will need to identify a tribe, the step to do so are in the bullet below.  If you know your tribe from last year pick, that one, if not select the generic Boys Tribe or Girls Tribe.

If you are not registered under the new website, jump to the section for new members

  • Under the “Actions” dropdown for each member you will be required to add a tribe.  Select “Add Tribe” for each member.  You will find Grandview K-Tribes under the “GLRAL” title in the dropdown.  From there you should select either Boys Tribe or Girls Tribe.  We will assign specific members to specific groups after signup/registration.
  • From there it will take you to a page to submit payment.  Currently the yearly dues are a total of $105 per family (not per person).  $60 of that goes to our national organization to cover insurance, site hosting, event management, etc.  The $45 fee goes to our local organization and is primarily used to fund the many “free” events and themed meetings throughout the year, and to account for any camp overages.  We do our best to operate as a cost neutral organization.

  • Select Grandview K-Tribes under membership type
  • Agree to privacy policy then fill out requested information (name, address, DOB, etc.)
  • There are a few questions asked that are default from the national group that hosts our site.  You do not have to answer any questions that do not have a red asterisk but try to fill out as extensively as you can.
  • Once you reach step 5 it will give you the option to “Add Tertiary Member”.  This is where you can add your child/children.
  • Once all members are added to a tribe you will be asked to create a username and password.

🌟 K-Tribes 2025: A New Year of Adventure & Connection!

Welcome back, Kitchinodin Nation!

We’re kicking off another exciting year of K-Tribes, and both kids and dads are already buzzing with anticipation. Whether you’re a longtime member or brand new to the group, this year’s lineup is packed with opportunities to connect, make memories, and have some serious fun.

Below is the slate of events for the 2025–26 school year. Mark your calendars and join us!

🍕 August 20 – Dad’s Night @ Grandview Theater | 7–9 PM

A relaxed, drop-in evening just for dads. New members can meet the “old guard,” swap stories, and enjoy free pizza. No kids this time — just an easy, come-and-go hangout to build connections with other parents.

🎬 September 19 – Family Movie Night | 1156 Westwood | 7 PM

Bring the whole crew for our annual movie night blowout! We’ll have a massive hi-def screen, surround sound, popcorn machine, movie snacks, and a firepit for parents to gather around. This one’s open to everyone — the more the merrier!

🏈 September 20 – Punt, Pass & Kick | Buck Park | Registration 8:30 AM | Event 9 AM

It’s game day! Kids compete for trophies in fastest sprint, strongest punt, and farthest throw. And don’t worry dads — there’s a trophy for you too. (There can only be one champion!)

🍂 October 3–5 – Fall Camp @ Camp Willson

A highlight of every K-Tribes year! Fall Camp is an unforgettable experience for kids and dads alike. Packed with classic YMCA camp fun — cabins, campfires, and plenty of adventure — but with the comfort of AC, plumbing, and no tents required. Ask any dad: the memories from that first camp with your kid last a lifetime.

💡 Why Join K-Tribes?

  • Bond with your kids in fun, meaningful ways

  • Build lifelong friendships with other families

  • Create traditions your kids will remember forever

Whether you’re here for the first time or back for another season, 2025 is shaping up to be our best year yet.

 Winter Camp February 2nd

(1/8/24 Update: Registration is open!)

Winter Camp at YMCA Camp Kern might be my favorite event of the whole year. Its at a completely different facility (with better food and cabins!) and has a completely different feel. From Pete's tower to the 1000 step trail Kern has a ton to offer.

Also HORSES! camp Wilson no longer has Horses, so having them at Kern is a huge deal for the kids at winter camp. Kern also has a huge indoor gym and climbing wall, so while it will likely be cold there is still a ton to do that will keep you warm!

From the naming ceremony to the fantastically chaotic games of sock hockey winter camp has it all. Registration will open on circlebridge right after the new year.

Fall Camp! October 6th to 8th!

What is "Camp"? First off, it is not camping. It is not sleeping on the ground, and eating dehydrated mac and cheese. We are at YMCA Camp Wilson in Bellefontaine Ohio. We sleep in real beds in a climate controlled cabin. We eat real food prepared by the camp staff, so at most bring some snacks.

Friday night is arrival and a fun hotdog and smore roast for the kids over a bon fire, then lots of general running around until lights out.

Saturday is the main event from wake up until 10pm there is all sorts of crazy events going on. The day kicks off with the infamous golden rock hunt. After breakfast the entire camp is open to us. Archery, rock climbing, epic ga-ga ball battles, sports ball games, pumpkin carving and giant swing to name just a few.

The weekend is capped of by our closing ceremony and ice cream for the kids. Sunday is mainly packing up and heading home. Most folks are in need of a shower and a nap by then but it is well worth it! I think most of us are back to Grandview before lunch.

Camp is an awesome experience for father and child, I cant recommend it enough! Can't wait to see you there!

Welcome to K-tribes!

Hope that you can join us, K-tribes is some of the best time you can spend with your child!

But what is K-tribes?

It's a Grandview only group that puts together events/activities for dads and kids grades K-4, there are tribes of dads and daughters and also separate ones for dads and sons.  The premise is to create time for dads to bond with their kids and let kids do things with peers they may or may not know.  The big events are for all members, but each kid will also be placed into a Tribe with 15 or so other kids that get together every 6 weeks or so.  In total there are around 150 kids involved.

We moved here 2 years ago and I started doing it last year and have really enjoyed it, nice to do things with the girls and also cool to see them get more confidence and interact with their friends.  The main events are 3 camps that run Friday evening -Sunday at YMCA camps about an hour outside of town and have tons of things to do including fishing, horseback riding, archery, climbing wall, giant swings and slides, and hikes.  Events only occur during the school year.  I'm a big advocate for it so happy to talk more and if interested can help you sign up and there will be a table at the ice cream social where you can sign up.  Other events this year are listed below
